Day 1

Montreal – In flight

Leaving Montreal.

Day 2

Budapest

Arriving in Budapest and meeting the guide at the airport. Transfer to the hotel by bus and free time. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 3

Budapest

Breakfast at the hotel. Guided city tour with guide (3h) – Buda: the castle area, listed as UNESCO’s World Heritage. Visit of Firsherman’ bastion (outside and up), Mathias church (outside and inside), Royal Palace (outside and its yards). Stroll in the neighborhood. Free time for lunch ($) and to walk around. Free time for dinner ($) and back to the hotel.

Day 4

Budapest

Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Pest on foot with a guide (4h) – Pest: Visit of Saint-Etienne basilica and the St. Dextre (relic of the first king of Hungary), Parliament (outside), Andrassy Avenue, Heros Square and its monument depicting the seven tribe chiefs. Visit of the parliament with a local guide (unless parliament is in session). Free time for lunch ($) and to stroll around. Free time for dinner ($) and back to the hotel.

Day 5

Budapest – Bratislava – Vienna | 280 km

Day 10

Krakow

Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving for Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, symbol of the Holocaust and a place to reflect on the atrocities of war. – 3.5 h guided tour with a local guide. Free time for lunch ($). In the afternoon, leaving for Wieliczka et visiting the renowned salt mines, the biggest and oldest of Europe. Free time for dinner ($) and back to the hotel.

Day 11

Krakow – Prague | 510 km

Breakfast at the hotel and leaving for Prague. Stopping in Austerlitz Slavkov, known as Austerlitz, where, in 1805, three emperors (French, Austria and Russia) fought in what was then the bloodiest military event of Europe. Napoléon won the fight. The truce was then signed at the castle. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the Peace Monument and its multimedia exhibition and/or the chapel ($). Special lunch on the battlefield or at the castle with a soldier dressed in period uniform. Leaving for Prague and checking in at the hotel. Free time for dinner ($) and back to the hotel.

Day 12

Prague

Breakfast at the hotel and guided tour of the Old City: the Royal road, the Astronomical clock, university Charles founded in 1348, Notre-Dame-de-Tyn church, traders court of Ungelt founded in the 12th century and Charles bridge, a monument known for its open-sky gallery of statues, symbol of the city. Free time for lunch ($). Afternoon dedicaded to Joseiov Jewish neighborhood and the old cemetery. Then we’ll follow the footsteps of Franz Kafka, a well-nown writer. Free time for dinner ($) and back at the hotel.

Day 13

Prague

Breakfast at the hotel and guided tour of the castle of Prague. The neighborhood is a city within a city: the Royal Palace, the Golden Alley, Daliborka tower, St-Georges roman basillica and St-Guy cathedrale. Free time for lunch ($). Guided tour of Malá Strana, with its baroque palaces, narrow alleys, gardens and churches. Free time for dinner ($) and back at the hotel.
